Rahab — Faith That Changed Her Story

Rahab lived in Jericho and worked as a prostitute — Scripture names her that plainly, in three different places (Joshua 2:1; Hebrews 11:31; James 2:25), and her story doesn't need softening to be remarkable. When two Israelite spies came to her house, she hid them from the king's men and confessed, "the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath." She had heard what God did for Israel and believed it before anyone asked her to — a belief that cost her something real: she risked her life, broke with her city, and staked her family's survival on a scarlet cord in her window. Rahab's story is proof that God's grace reaches people a religious insider would never expect.
